Frances Daroszewski - Shenandoah, PA circa 1955

It is written that genealogy is the recorded history of the descent of a person or family from an ancestor or ancestors.  Genealogy is a way to find, preserve, and share our family heritage.  It is important to share family stories and traditions with others in our family.  It is also important to learn more than just the names and relevant dates of our ancestors.  We need to delve into their lives in a way that uncovers the true person.  We need to discover what historical events in their lives impacted the way they lived and the choices they made.  Telling our ancestor's stories is a way to honor them.  It is a way to let our children and grandchildren know where they came from and give them a greater insight into who they are and why they are here.
